Don Cor-Blimey

I’m starting to feel a bit sorry for the ‘Great Donzo’ as everyone seems to be picking on him (no – of course not, I was being sarcastic). If you didn’t realise that you haven’t been here much have you?

His reaction to the most recent poll on his approval rating was outstanding.

He somehow managed to get three things wrong in just one tweet –

1. Nearly 40%

‘The ABC/Washington Post Poll, even though almost 40%…’

This is untrue.

The latest ABC/Washington Post Poll, published this morning, gave Donald Trump an approval rating of 36%.

36% is not nearly 40%.

In fact, it’s nearly 35%.

2. It’s not bad

…is not bad at this time…’

This is untrue.

After six months in office, a 36% approval represents the worst poll rating of any President in modern polling history.

The next worst polling, six months into a presidency, was for Gerald Ford who still managed to hang on to a 39% rating just after he decided to pardon Richard Nixon for his role in the Watergate scandal.

3. But it’s one of the most inaccurate

…was just about the most inaccurate poll around election time!’

This is untrue.

According to independent research carried out by Costas Panagopoulos of Fordham University, the ABC/Washington Post tracking poll was the third most accurate poll in the final days of the election campaign.

Only International Business Daily/TIPP’s tracking poll and McClatchy/Marist were more accurate.

What isn’t bad is the ability to get so many lies into just one 139 word tweet.

I’m not sure why we are surprised – he has form for tweeting rubbish –

Nice one Don!
