The Junior World Championship reaches the business end with the semi-finals taking place.
England v South Africa
New Zealand v France
All 4 teams are unbeaten so far – England and NZ winning all three pool games and the others winning two and ending up in a draw when they played each other.
Only eight teams have contested an U20 Championship semifinal: New Zealand, England, South Africa, France, Australia, Wales, Argentina and Ireland.
Of these only Argentina and France have never reached the Final.
Momentum is probably with NZ and SA who both won their last game convincingly whilst England nearly stumbled against Australia and needed a late penalty to win.
However, England are defending champions and have played well without those players nicked by Eddie Jones and I think they will have just enough to knock the SA team out.
In the second semi, expect NZ to win with something to spare thus denying France again from reaching the final.
Both games are ‘live’ on ITV4 tomorrow afternoon.
