There are just two more rounds of Super rugby before the Lions tour and the superimposed break until R15 – The NZ teams return in R17 after the tests.
A lot of the media nonsense about All Black injuries has started to dissipate and both Ben Smith and Israel Dagg return to Super Rugby this week.
There are some tough calls this week –
The Chiefs take on the Blues in Auckland where Anton Lienert-Brown goes head to head with SBW. I have the Chiefs by less than 5
The Force travel again, although this time just to Queensland, where they will go down by some 10 or so
The Sunwolves and Cheetahs have mostly been on the losing side this season – the SA team should go home with a win though. Cheetahs by 7
Highlanders v Waratahs should go to the home side by 20 at least – although the Tahs can still get through to the knockout rounds courtesy of Sanzaar’s bizarre format.
The unbeaten Crusaders travel to the Rebels and will return home still with a 100% record. Crusaders by 20+
Another relatively easy call is the Bulls hosting the Hurricanes and going down by over 20
Sharks v Stormers should be close – I will go with the home side by 3
Jaguares will pour more misery on the Brumbies and potentially open up qualification from the Australian Conference – especially if my prediction about the Reds is right.
Finally the Lions will roar home against the Kings by over 20.
The African and NZ conferences look to be pretty much decided now – it is the Australian one that remains open.
Some good rugby on TV before the Aviva and Pro12 finals this weekend.
