I did better with my Premiership predictions than Super Rugby this week although I made a balls up of the Friday game at the Stoop.
I had Wasps securing a home semi-final when in fact they now need a result next week against Saracens and could yet find themselves playing Saracens away in the play-offs.
Dai Young must have been disappointed to see both the Chiefs and Saracens get bonus points
Although Saracens uncharacteristically made hard work of it against Bristol and were scoreless and losing at halftime.
The top of the Premiership with one game to go is –
Tigers are now almost certain of 4th, but the home advantage for the others is still very much in the mix.
Saturday’s games which will resolve this are –
Gloucester v Exeter
Wasps v Saracens
All games kick off at 4pm
I’ve been avoiding mentioning my score this week – I managed 4 out of 6 – which doesn’t sound too bad until you look at my prediction for the game at Bath.
I had Gloucester to beat Bath at the Rec. They didn’t, in fact they didn’t by 44-20 and Gloucester were lucky to come second.
So what I know about rugby can be written on the back of a turnip in capital letters – a very small turnip.
Gloucester will need to be a lot sharper on Friday week when they take on Stade in Edinburgh.
