Once again I am indebted to our friend Lyn in America for supplying me with yet another post idea.
She forwarded this link from the Washington Post –
On Lincoln’s birthday in February, Trump tweeted out an obviously fake quote from the 16th president: “In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count, it’s the life in your years.” He later deleted it.
It seems ‘Don’ is not exactly a whizz when it comes to stuff that happened more than 5 minutes ago.
At school I was pretty crap at history – and well, just about everything else too, and am no bloody Einstein compared to the bloke in the Pennsylvania Avenue. However I don’t go around proving it to everyone in midnight tweets.
“Frederick Douglass is an example of somebody who’s done an amazing job and is getting recognized more and more, I notice,” he said at a Black History Month event. (Douglass died in 1895.)
I accept that it is fortunate that I don’t have access to the nuclear codes – but find it a bit of a worry that ‘The Great Donzo’ does!
Thanks again for the heads up Lyn – you should really have your own blog – would certainly be more interesting than the stuff I find for myself.
