Unlike my Super Rugby predictions my guesses for the Premiership have been below average and my score is only just over 70% for the first 18 rounds.
With some close games this week I will mainly be going ‘home’ for round 19.
Tonight Sale Sharks with a good home record should have enough to see off the Warriors.
The Falcons usually have a decent time at Kingston Park and will hold off inconsistent Gloucester
The Bath v Tigers game is at Twickenham tomorrow and will be a scrap for the 4th place. If Tigers win it will probably kill off Bath’s hopes for a play-off. I suspect Bath will be licking their wounds on the trip back down the M4
Chiefs v Bristol at Sandy Park is a no brainer – Chiefs by a shedload
Saracens v Quins is at Wembley – Quins have an outside chance of the play-offs, whilst Saracens are playing to get home advantage. Quins hopes will be severely dented.
Wasps take on Saints on Sunday still sore from being knocked out of Europe last week. They will get the win to cement their position at the top of the table.
If I’m right the top 4 places will pretty much be secured by Sunday evening with Bath, Quins and Saints unlikely to overtake Tigers in the last 3 rounds.
Of course I’m not often right so it would be smarter to use a pin to pick a nag for tomorrow than to bet on my forecast.
Having said that I am 1 for 1 on Super Rugby this week – despite the Waratahs making a decent fist of it in the second half, the Hurricanes came home 38-28
