A Cite for Sore Eyes

Scotland didn’t just get a hiding on Saturday – they lost a number of players to injury and not all are likely to be fit enough to play in the final game against Italy at Murrayfield on Saturday.

Mark Bennett is definitely out and Full-back Hogg, wing Tommy Seymour and number eight Ryan Wilson are being treated for concussion.

Finn Russell, Huw Jones and Richie Gray also require precautionary scans.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, hooker Fraser Brown has been cited for the dangerous tackle on Elliot Daly. Brown was yellow carded although it looked to many (including me) like it should have been red. Particularly in view of the new focus on dangerous play.

The disciplinary meeting is tomorrow and a ban would mean Brown will miss the Italy game.
