Gone Too Soon

Yet another international rugby player passed away yesterday – long before his time.

Dan Vickerman was a Wallaby forward who was just 37

In the last two weeks, the rugby world has lost Joost van der Westhuizen, Sione Lauaki and now Dan Vickerman. All were relatively young and each of them played for one of the Southern Hemisphere giants.

There have been an outpouring of tributes for Dan from both the mainstream and social media – he only stopped playing in 2012 – and only then because of injury.

I liked the one from Eddie Jones – the coach who gave him his first test cap –

I also thought this from the Guardian was fitting  –

RIP Dan
