After all the verbal rubbish it finally kicks off (possibly literally) tomorrow.
As usual I will be giving my predictions (I knew you’d be pleased) for each of the 5 rounds.
First up is Scotland v Ireland
The Scots are rejuvenated and there is a fair bit of confidence emanating from Edinburgh about their first match – and even their title hopes.
I think they will take a bit of a dent tomorrow and that Ireland will just about come out on top in a very tough match. I don’t expect there to be any try bonus points though. Ireland by 10
England v France starts at 4.50pm apparently ( which seems a bit odd!)
Eddie Jones has described this as a ‘war’ and there will definitely be no prisoners taken.
Again I expect it to be close with England getting their sixteenth win in a row, winning by 13
Italy v Wales is at the traditional time of 3pm on Sunday.
Rob Howley has played it very safe with his selection and they won’t trip up in Rome.
Wales by 26
With Lions places at stake and the concern over rankings for the World Cup pools this will be a tense 6 Nations tournament. Throw in the new high tackle sanctions and we are in for a thrilling 7 weeks.
Gentlemen (and Doris’) start your microwaves!
