I have no idea if the inclement weather is likely to affect the European programme this weekend, but there was enough snow in Turnip Town this morning to comfortably build half a snowman scarecrow.
There are so very interesting fixtures that are likely to decide if, not who goes through but certainly who doesn’t!
These are my tips – I suggest you ignore them if you fancy a bet –
Leinster v Montpellier – close I think but I have to go with the home side (even without Sean O’Brien)
Connacht v Zebre – hardly a brain tester – bonus point for the Irish
Saints v Castres – suspect both sides are only playing for pride at this stage – again I give the advantage to the home team
Wasps v Toulouse – 4 points for wasps and a guarantee of qualification
Glasgow v Munster – almost impossible to call and I think Munster will just about edge it based on last week’s away form
Racing v Tigers – Racing are all over the place at the moment – and won’t be happy when they leave Welford Rd.
Scarlets v Saracens – home side are now playing for pride but would love a Saracens scalp – they won’t get it!
Bordeuax v Clermont – French sides don’t often win on the road – but Clermont will this weekend.
Toulon v Sharks – a comfortable home win
Chiefs v Ulster – can’t see either team qualifying for the quarters, so I’m going with the Chiefs – but not by many.
With both Sky and BT sharing the Champions Cup there is plenty to watch if you’re snowed in – as long as the players (and more importantly ground staff) aren’t as well!
