Earlier this morning, Eddie Jones finally announced his squad for tomorrow’s game at Twickenham
Somewhat predictably I got a few wrong when I listed my team in a previous post.
England: Goode, Rokoduguni, Joseph, Farrell, Daly, G Ford, Youngs; M Vunipola, Hartley, Cole, Launchbury, Lawes, Robshaw, Harrison, B Vunipola.
Replacements: George, Marler, Sinckler, Ewels, Hughes, Care, Te’o, Slade.
I had Nathan Hughes, Joe Marler and Jamie George starting – still at least they made the bench.
It is a changed side from the one that took on the Springboks last week with 4 changes.
It would be unfair to complain about the long list of injuries that England have at the moment – certainly not compared to the paucity of resources available to Fiji.
It should be a good test of the depth of England rugby.
Fiji have also announced their starting line-up –
Fiji: Talebula; Masilevu, Tikoirotuma, Vulivuli, Nadolo; Matavesi, Vularika; Ma’afu, Koto, Saulo, Ratuniyawara, Nakarawa, Waqaniburotu, Yato, Qera.
Replacements: Talemaitoga, Ravai, Atalifo, Soqeta, Dawai, Radrodro, Matawalu, Murimurivalu.
There has been much talk about Nathan Hughes opting to play for England rather than Fiji – truth is he wouldn’t be picked for their squad – his name doesn’t end in a vowel. Roko would have a chance though.
