There seem to be an increasing number of injuries affecting pretty much all the teams involved in the upcoming autumn tours.
The All Blacks have problems at lock and Sam Warburton has been ruled out of the game against the Wallabies.
Ireland have lost players from the squad that headed off to Chicago. Neither have Scotland, South Africa or Australia been immune to the modern hazards caused by the game getting faster and the players bigger and more powerful.
England’s well documented problems have been exacerbated by both Courtney Lawes and Mako Vunipola unable to take full part in the trip to Portugal.
There could be a silver lining of course – opening up opportunities for other players to show if they can make the step up to international rugby.
I wonder how many (if any) of the ‘new faces’ will be first choice come the 6 Nations.
